With the popularity of monthly showcase events such as First Friday Artwalks and Uptown Saturday Night, the gallery scene is hot in St. Augustine.

From 5 to 9 p.m. on the First Friday of every month, continuing through the entire weekend, join the festivities as St. Augustine's art galleries open their new shows with refreshments and live music. Parking is available at several locations and complimentary Art Trains run every 15 minutes. Crisp-Ellert Art Museum

Scheduled to open in 2008, this 1,400-square-foot museum is housed in the former home and studio of artist JoAnn Crisp-Ellert, donated to Flagler College upon her death. Paintings by Crisp-Ellert and other artists will be displayed.

Paintings, costumes, furnishings, mechanical and musical instruments, and other relics of America’s Gilded Age offer a glimpse into 19th century daily life. The Lightner collection includes beautiful examples of cut glass, Victorian art glass, and the stained glass work of Louis Comfort Tiffany.
